Introduction to Gospel of John

October 26th 2010

After Paul's Epistle to the Romans, and right up there with it, my favorite book of the Bible is the Gospel of John. John writes in a style to pray for. . .with a profound simplicity. So straightforward, yet weighty.  And one never has to wonder what his purpose is:  "Many other signs therefore Jesus also performed in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book; but these have been written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name." (John 20.30-31) That express aim is the reason we so often suggest in reading the Bible, people start with John's Gospel.
